Ways to solve the problem with Bypassing Apache

If you see an error with the bypassing_apache code on the Xilifox Image Optimizer settings page, please follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

  • Step 1. #

Below is the list of hostings for which we have prepared dedicated instructions. If you use one of them, use the manual dedicated to it:

If you do not use any of the above hosting, go to the next steps.

  • Step 2. #

Log in to your hosting management panel and try to find one of the following settings (nomenclature may vary in different control panels) for your website:

    • “Nginx Direct Delivery”, “Nginx Caching” or similar in the section related to Speed or Caching
    • “Smart static files processing”, “Serve static files directly by Nginx” or similar in the section related to Apache and Nginx configuration

If you find any of the above settings, please disable it.

If you have listed there what formats are supported by the Nginx server, then instead of disabling this feature completely you can remove the following extensions from the list of extensions supported by Nginx:

    • jpeg
    • jpg
    • png
    • webp

  • Step 3. #

If you have direct access to the Nginx configuration, please, make the changes described in the plugin FAQ (in the question: Configuration for Nginx Proxy).
